The Future of Submarine Service

Rear Admiral Jeffrey “Jeff” E. Trussler, Commander, Undersea Warfighting Development Center will present “The Future of the Submarine Force and Submarine Warfare” on June 1, at 7:00 p.m. at the Academic Building at University of Connecticut, Avery Point.
Rear Admiral Trussler oversees the training, assessment, tactical development and analysis of U.S. Navy Undersea Warfare Capabilities. He is originally from Miami, Oklahoma. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy at Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island.
During his naval career, Rear Admiral Trussler has served ashore in various assignments including on the Pacific Fleet Nuclear Propulsion Examining Board, and on the Joint and Navy Staffs. At sea he has served on four submarines and commanded USS MARYLAND (Blue) and Task Force 69 for the U.S. 6th Fleet. Admiral Trussler was the recipient of the Naval Submarine League’s Rear Adm. Jack Darby Award for Inspirational Leadership and Excellence in Command for 2006. A member of the Cherokee Nation, he was the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) Executive Excellence award winner for 2008.
