The History of Electric Boat

June 7, 2016 @ 7:00 pm

The Connecticut Submarine Lecture Series continues with Tom Plante, EB’s Director of Strategic Planning. He will explain how Electric Boat was established and trace its growth during two world wars. The story of the development of the world’s first nuclear-powered submarine and subsequent submarine classes will be recounted. In 2014, the U.S. Navy awarded Electric Boat a $17.6 billion contract for the construction of 10 additional Virginia-class submarines, the largest contract ever given by the Navy. Join us to hear another chapter in the story of how Groton became the “submarine capital of the world.”
