Fleet Reserve Association’s Sea Service Memorial Ceremony

Branch 20 will conduct its Annual Sea Service Memorial Ceremony at the Town of Groton’s Veterans’ Memorial in front of the Groton Town Library, Newtown Road (Rt. 117), on Saturday, May 28th, at 2 p.m. Departed shipmates, many of whom were Submariners, who have joined the staff of the Supreme Commander during the past year will be honored with the tolling of the bell as their names are read. The Connecticut Submarine Lecture Series continues with Tom Plante, EB’s Director of Strategic Planning. He will explain how Electric Boat was established and trace its growth during two world wars. The story of the development of the world’s first nuclear-powered submarine and subsequent submarine classes will be recounted.
